...Dev,<br /><br />That is an interesting take - one I like. <br /><br />I preached on the Amos stuff a few months ago and took the view that the 3 sins 4 sins was a measure of completeness (equalling 7) and referenced the Lord warning Abram not to enter the land in Gen 15 as the sin of the amorites had not reached its full measure - a kind of precedent to the Lord bringing judgement at a point when the measure of sin is reached. Interestingly, it would be 4th generation who would enter. The judgment in Amos was similar in that the measure had been reached, sin was complete etc, judgement could fall. <br /><br />I'm not sure that was right, but not a lot was written on it, so that was my best bet at the time.
